Great Expectations

We were never called to single parent our destinies
God shows us some amazing things about ourselves through moms! A few things all moms can teach us –
  • New life comes through an expectation and sacrifice
  • Oneness and unity birth new realities
  • New reality and vision must be carried to maturity

Nothing is as clear as day as a mother expecting! What’s the one question you’re not supposed to ask any woman? Are you pregnant!? But did you know that you are excepting? Yes, I mean you! And I guarantee you’re showing it whether you know it or not. When a woman is pregnant, she carries new life inside of her. It doesn’t matter what’s going on around her. There are moms in refugee camps, moms in palaces, moms in war, moms in peace, moms in cities, moms in towns. What’s going on around her doesn’t make her a mom; what’s going on inside of her does. This reality is true for all of us. What’s going on around you doesn’t define who you are or what you can hope for! Imagine if Noah had let his environment determine his reality. In Genesis 6 and 7 we read that God directed Noah to build a boat to save his family from the coming flood. If Noah had let his expectations be based on his earthly circumstances, he never would have built the boat and humanity would have been lost. Instead, Noah let His expectations be based on God’s Word and His goodness. We are invited to do the same. God doesn’t want to see us abort His God given dreams and life just because we don’t see how it’s relevant or possible in our current season. We are called to live out Christ in us to maturity. Matthew 17:20 says, I tell you the truth, if you had faith even as small as a mustard seed, you could say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it would move. Nothing would be impossible. God loves to affirm the mystery of motherhood. All it takes is one baby seed planted in unwavering expectation of faith and love and anything is possible! If you had unlimited free access to Non-GMO organic seeds for every kind of vegetable you ever wanted, wouldn’t you start planting and stewarding that seed in the best soil you could find? You might even sell everything to buy a field to put it in! God gives us an unlimited amount of the purest, life giving seeds from His Spirit. It all comes from relationship with Him! Galations 6:7 says, “…for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” What we allow to seed in our lives will show in our lives. Expectations were always meant to grow to maturity through relationship. That’s why God ordained man and women to come together through covenant to have children. In our culture, the opposite can often happen, but not just between man and woman. God gives us hopes, expectations, vision and His design is that we walk that out through intimacy and relationship with Him. We were never meant to single parent our life and our dreams without Him being our Father! John 15:4 says, Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. A little bit ago, I heard God say, You are carrying a vision and I am protecting it. You will see it come to full maturity. I gave my life to protect that heartbeat! Do you realize that Jesus died on the cross to protect the heartbeat of the seed inside of you? Whether that seed is a dream or vision, joy or peace, it was valuable enough to our Savior to give His life. Every seed inside of you is a treasure from God. You have permission to walk in great expectations knowing that, The One God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all (Ephesians 4:6) has given His life to father what He plants in your hearts. DECLARE TODAY

  • I am not a single parent to the dreams or desires God has placed inside of me.
  • I am not a single parent to His love, grace, patience growing in me.
  • I am valued and have a destiny in Christ full of peace, blessing and abundance.
  • I partner daily with Father God to see His Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven in my life, family and world.
It’s time to sow some good seeds today and plant them in hope filled expectation.
I am certain that God who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns. Phil 1:6
